Twitter Card Generator: what to know
Twitter cards are the link previews on X: a title, description and image attached to a post that contains your URL. They're controlled by meta tags whose names still start with twitter:, such as twitter:card, twitter:title, twitter:description and twitter:image. The generator creates those tags from a short form, including image alt text, so you can paste them into your page's head.
The twitter:card value picks the layout. summary shows a small square thumbnail beside the text, and summary_large_image shows a wide image above it, which stands out more in a busy feed. X falls back to Open Graph tags for the title, description and image when the twitter: versions are missing, so if your page already has good og: tags, the card type is often the only tag you need to add.
Images for large cards work best at a 2:1 ratio, at least 300 × 157 pixels and commonly 1200 × 600 or the 1200 × 630 used for Open Graph. Use an absolute https URL. Like other apps, X caches cards, so a change can take time to appear on posts that already exist.
