Product Schema Generator: what to know
Product markup describes an item for sale: its name, images, description, brand, SKU or GTIN, and an Offer with price, currency and availability, plus reviews and ratings when you have them. The product schema generator builds that JSON-LD for a product page so search engines can read the details precisely instead of guessing from the layout.
Google uses Product markup for two kinds of results. Product snippets, with stars, price and availability under a regular result, need a name plus at least one of offers, review or aggregateRating. Merchant listings, in shopping experiences, need an offer with a price and currency and work best with images, GTINs and shipping and return details. The markup must match what the page shows; a different price in the markup than on the page is a policy problem.
Write prices as plain numbers such as 24.99, currencies as three-letter ISO 4217 codes such as USD, and availability as a schema.org URL such as https://schema.org/InStock. Ratings are only allowed when real reviews are shown on the page, and self-written reviews of your own products are not eligible.
Popular uses
- Adding price and availability to product pages
- Marking up reviews and aggregate ratings
- Prototyping markup for an e-commerce template
- Fixing missing currency or availability values
Tips for the best result
- Use GTINs (UPC, EAN, ISBN) when your products have them; they help Google match products.
- Keep availability and price in sync with your stock and checkout.
- Add several images in different aspect ratios (1:1, 4:3, 16:9) when you can.
